ABOUT US..

Who are we, the humans behind the name breeding name Akaroa's?
Well, In our household there is me, Linda and my boyfriend Robert.

Linda & Robert

As far as were conserned a life with out animals isn´t any life worth living!
We devote all our time to our animals, loving, grooming, sometimes going to shows.
Were also involved with club activeties, both presides in the Swedish Estrela club board, and we also like to take part of what´s going on in the Estrela community around the world!

Our house during winter time

Our home is located near the lake Vänern in a little village called Dals Rostock, near the small town Mellerud.

Mellerud is cituated about 130 km from Gothenburg and 100 km from Halden/Norway.

We live at the foot of the mountain "kroppefjäll", with the forest just behind our back door.

Our thoughts about breeding
We like to give all our litters as much time and devotion as we possible can,

so that they can grow up to become healthy and mentally stable individs
and as true to standard as possible.
We take very much interest in pedigrees and plan for the future,
Using good, solid and healthy breedingstock combined with new bloodlines.

We strongly feel that we have to take good care of the legacy of the excellent job the old breeders before us has done, Still strive forward and try our very best to improve as much as we can.

We are now and we will always have the aim to continue to be very small scale breeders. Quality and health is our main priority and we will not ever breed for quantity!

We are so very fortunate to have come in contact with  many good breeders and dog owners all around the world, who has helped and keeps on helping us tremendously along the way. A big thank you goes to all of you!

Such Ofixa's Estrela Allis

We bought our first estrela "O'fixas Estrela Allis" in 1994,
It was love at first sight, we haven´t looked back since.
Although  this great lady isn´t amoung us any longer Allis showed us just what a marvellous breed the Estrela is!

Allis sadly couldn´t be used for breeding, so it wasen´t until we got our female Flokkvokteren Beleza that our dream of getting our own breeding started, and by the end of 2001 our first litter was born.

Such Flokkvokteren Beleza

We belive that in order to be able to do the best possible work for the breed it is better to not stand alone, which is why we co work with several breeders both in Sweden and abroad.
Some of our puppies are exported to other countries around the world and some remains here in Sweden. If you want to learn more about our offsprings, their pedigrees and much more, please look under litters on link abowe.

To sum up this year is hard!
There's been times of deep sorrow when loosing both "Bissebass and Edrosa.
But there's also been times of excitment and joy, such as the amazing results from the WW weekend,
positiv feedback from our puppybuyers that tells us how great our young ones are doing in there new homes,
were very happy and proud to see that some of them have been used for breeding in various parts of the world.
Last but surely not least, let's not forget to mention or latest member of our family, Lad's Emperor da Estrela,
